What's New in the Latest Toyota Tundra?
Toyota has mostly stuck with what's worked so well with the Tundra, with the latest offering available at our dealership only bringing some minor changes to option packages and the feature offerings throughout the trim level lineup of this full-sized truck. Some new options were added in the last couple model years, but you have to go back several years before Toyota last redesigned and refreshed the Tundra.
Performance & Capabilities
With a single twin-turbo 3.4-liter V-6, the new Toyota Tundra offers three different tunings for you to consider. There's a 473-horsepower hybrid setup, then two versions of that twin-turbo V-6: the base one rated at 348 horsepower with 405 pound-feet of torque, and the upgraded option that bumps the Tundra up to 389 horsepower with 479 pound-feet of torque. All engines pair with a smooth 10-speed automatic transmission, with 4x4 capabilities easy to add with most setups and editions.
When properly equipped, the Toyota Tundra can tow up to 12,000 pounds. You can also haul up to 1,940 in a specific configuration, with our truck experts ready to go over what exactly you need to trailer or carry in your truck bed, helping us match you up with the perfect edition and setup of the useful Toyota Tundra.

The new Toyota Tundra is available in two different cab styles. The extended cab can be matched with a 6.5- or 8.1-foot bed while the larger crew cab pairs with either a 5.5- or 6.5-foot bed. With multiple trim levels available, you'll be able to upgrade your cabin with available leather upholstery, premium sound equipment, and all sorts of comfort- and convenience-minded amenities you might want with your everyday full-sized truck when you drive on Michigan Highway 5 and beyond.
Technology
With a truck like the new Tundra, your focus is probably on the hard work you're planning at jobsites along I-696 or even right at home. But this full-sized truck is still full of smart Toyota tech, which you'd expect from any model we have for sale. In the base SR trim, you'll enjoy an easy-to-use 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with smartphone integration. In higher trims, you'll have options for navigation, voice commands, a larger touchscreen, a wireless smartphone charger, and much more.

Safety
The Toyota brand's high-end tech really showcases its intelligence when it comes to the standard and available safety features in the new Tundra. With the standard Toyota Safety Sense suite, you'll start off with driver aids like forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane departure mitigation, lane keeping, and parking sensors. In higher trims, your Tundra may add blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a surround-view camera, and more.
Trim Levels
The new Toyota Tundra is available to buy or lease in seven different trim levels, though ask our experts about the hybrid powertrain setup, as that may be offered in a different edition. Choose from the following trims:
- SR: The base package offers keyless entry, push-button start, an 8-inch touchscreen, and smartphone integration, as well as the Toyota Safety Sense suite of driver aids.
- SR5: This setup gives you LED foglights, alloy wheels, some additional convenience features, and the option for a towing package.
- Limited: Along with plenty of comfort-minded amenities inside, the Limited edition gives you a hands-free tailgate function, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, in-car navigation with voice recognition, and power-folding side mirrors with integrated turn signals.
- Platinum: Luxuries like a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, a larger touchscreen, a premium sound system, a wireless smartphone charger, and more are added to this trim level.
- 1794 Edition: Brings the same features and upgrades as the Platinum, just with western-tyle exterior and interior designs and special wood trimming.
- TRD Pro: The off-roading trim level uses the hybrid powertrain and 4x4 capabilities, and also adds multi-terrain off-road driving modes, craw control, hill descent control, skid plates, and more.
- Capstone: Also uses the hybrid powertrain and 4x4 with 22-inch alloys, power running boards, a power cargo bed step, special styling, premium leather upholstery, and much more.
